Grey is the new Black

I went on the search for a new hair salon in Taipei this year again. Before I left for taiwan, I searched for some recommended hair salon especially in Ximending area. It seems like the early quarter of 2015 have been revolving around my hair.
Imagine the surprise when I found via a blog a recommended salon called Crazy Cut in that area. There were a few other recommendations in taipei, however what sold me at Crazy Cut is the part where they are good with modern cuts and colours. I have found other salon which does more professional and work-safe hairstyle but I am not looking for any of those. Without much thought, I just went ahead to look for the place and booked a slot for my dear hair 😀
I recently did a pixie cut, so i just needed to get a fresh coat of colour to sit on the trend of 2015. And guess what? Grey is the new black. I went all out with my choice. I gotten a cool hairstylist whose name is Vanness Wu and like WOW! two thumbs up, I’m impressed…

I had to do thorough bleaching to remove the dark pigment from my hair so that I can put on the grey colour. After two cycle of bleaching, I could not even look at my own reflection…SMH. It was a totally long, endearing journey on that salon chair. I can’t recall when was the last time that I washed my hair multiple times in one afternoon. But the final result after that was amazing too.

Just in case if you are wondering, how much this whole hair colouring cost me, it was just slighly below SGD114. The previous time when I did my hair colouring and hair cut in Shihlin area cost me a whooping SGD200 although it was pretty while it lasted.

Vanness, gave great perspectives of how my colour would fade to become and I appreciate the explaination because sometimes I like those run off colours a lot. I’m looking forward to my grey fading off cause it’s supposed to turn out like “milk tea”. Exactly how he described the colour to me “奶茶”. He showed me his assistant’s hair whom I asked before what colour was it but he could not explain it to me, that is where I needed the professional to illustrate it out. I am one happy customer!
One point to note for this salon, it would be beneficial if you can understand or converse in mandarin. The staff are not big on english or they are not even keen to try but I am totally fine with it cause it is not a big deal.
I was so happy with the end result that it made me feel even more proud as I walk around the town of Taipei with my new found love of my “crown” ;D

When I reached home, I shared with my brother about my trip to Crazy Cut, was I pleased to find out that he went to the same salon in Ximending as well. Oh well, we have got good taste I must say!
